Bringing Your Outdoor Space to Life

Garden Consultations

(North Somerset UK Area ONLY)

Do you have a garden or outside space which isn't looking its best and you don't know where to start?

Would you like to gain some knowledge and inspiration to make it a more fulfilling space for you to enjoy?

Would you like to introduce more colour all through the year in the garden, find a plant to screen something ugly like a garage or to make a garden easier to maintain?

Sometimes we inherit an outdoor space that was designed and planted by someone else, for their life, not yours. It might be too cluttered, or too bare, too dense or too out of control. Or maybe you like some or all of what you have but you just don't know what the plants you have are, or how to look after them.

Catherine can help you with a one off garden consultation. She will walk with you round the garden looking at what you have, asking how you use the space (or would like to), as well as looking at the boundaries of the space and the wider environment - such as where the sun is during the day, or whether there are any trees, buildings or views that should be emphasised (or hidden!).

Depending on what is already in your garden, Catherine can recommend new types of plants, pruning existing ones, suggest areas for seating, eating or play, as well as areas for encouraging wildlife, growing food or composting.

The garden consultation would be perfect for anyone with a new garden or a garden you have been looking at for years thinking "How can we make this a more fulfilling space?"

A garden consultation of upto 2 hours costs £50.

(North Somerset area only)

Gift Vouchers for a Consultation are available as housewarming, birthday or Christmas presents.

Learn Gardening Skills
(North Somerset UK Area ONLY)

Would you like to learn how to prune the shrubs in your garden and when is the best time to do it?
Would you like to know how to grow plants and food from seed ?
Would you like to fill your garden with free plants by taking cuttings or dividing existing plants?
Would you like to recycle your green waste into compost which your garden will love?

Catherine can show you how to do all these things in a one to one session in your garden.  You don't need a greenhouse or fancy equipment, Catherine can show you how.  An old kitchen knife is great for dividing plants, and plastic food containers from the supermarket make excellent seed trays. Compost can be made in a bin made of pallets, or just a pile in a corner.

2 hour garden skills sessions cost £50 and cover any one of
Pruning
Composting
Seed Sowing
Plant Propagation by cuttings or dividing
(North Somerset area only)

Border Design and Planting Plans

(North Somerset UK Area ONLY)

Do you have a border or raised bed which needs some new plants, but you do don't know where to start?  Would you like to know what plants would grow well in that situation and look good together? Perhaps you have had some garden landscaping work and need some inspiration for the plants to go into your new garden.  Or maybe you have an existing border which isn't looking its best and you would like to start again or revamp it.

Catherine can help by assessing the border site, and drawing up a planting plan of suggested plants which would suit the location and look good together.

The planting plan will show a scale drawing of the layout of the plants and a sketch of how the border would look once planted.  Catherine will provide a list of the plants and suggest local garden centres and online nurseries where you can purchase the plants.

Once you have the plants , Catherine can also plant them for you if you need help.
